Child Development - EDU504

This course is designed to review the principles for building a secure,
nurturing family atmosphere that grows strong responsible children and
explores the stages of child development.

 

Course Highlights

A reflection of selected issues and skills associated with the effective
management of behavior in children from birth to approximately five
years of age.

A study to better understand the nature of behavior management in early
childhood settings and specific issues related to the implementation of a
positive approach to discipline and behavior management.

Young children's developmental stages discussed: physical, language,
emotional, social, and intellectual.

Self-esteem and how to foster young children's self-concept.

Moral development in young children and how to stimulate young children's
moral understanding and behavior

Problem prevention: making life easier for young children and adults

Communicating with young children and positive strategies for guiding young
children's behavior
