The Doctor of Philosophy is a 60 semester hour terminal research degree in theological, ministerial, or religious studies which is designed for those who wish to have the most thorough training possible to fulfill God’s calling.
The academic challenges of this degree program require that the applicant have at least a Master’s degree (36 hours) from an institution recognized by Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary. Additionally the candidate must have demonstrated already significant ability to perform independent research and to present a scholarly analysis of the materials studied.
The Doctor of Philosophy program is designed to assist students who are pursuing advanced religious and theological studies in developing the skills necessary for a ministry of preaching, teaching, scholarly research, and writing.
Study Concentration Options
The student may choose from three separate concentrations within the Doctor of Philosophy degree, Theology, Religious Education, and Advanced Prophetics concentrations.
